This book instantly drew me in, the cover has a beautiful woman in traditional Chinese dress and it is very striking. The story was interesting, with the Chinese life and culture and Chinese words, the character seemed interesting since she was stern to the man in the shop and then there was talk of gold and alchemy has always seemed very interesting, borderline on magic and fantasy. I’d probably really enjoy picking up this book and reading it, learning more about the Chinese words and terms used. It seemed like I needed to skim the first look and didn’t want to get too immersed in the story to be hooked, so I just looked at it as an overview. I love the cover style and so far the story idea, it would be great if there was romance as well, but I didn’t see if that was listed for this book. I’d say the only downside was that it might be too overwhelming with the words and terms used.
