An Immersive Read
This was such a wonderful, immersive read!
The author's writing is so engaging, vivid, and inviting--it truly allows the read to feel as though they are going on the adventure with the main character, which is something I always love to experience while reading.
The plot itself was also really well done. The high stakes carried throughout the story, and I felt that the story never held back. The author clearly know what she was doing, and executed very well.
I really loved how real all the characters felt--they were both flawed and relatable. The family dynamics were also complex and intriguing to read about.
I thought the lore and world building was interesting, but there was a lot of it in the first half of the book--so much so, that I think it affected the pace a bit. Thus, I thought the pacing was tighter in the second half of the book than it was the first half.
Overall though, I really enjoyed this book!
