To start with, I really like this cover. It probably wouldn't be enough for me to purchase the book because fantasy isn't my favorite genre, however I thought the writing of this one was excellent. It was easy to get engaged with the story and I enjoyed our introduction to the characters. I also appreciate that the author included a precursor explaining that this is an alternate history story and should not be taken as an accurate depiction of Chinese history or culture.
