I'm a big fan of fantasy books with Asian culture infused in them. And very happy that more and more of these are being written. I find this one particular interesting since the focus is on alchemy, then taking that and re imaging the world. It's a gritty world, where death is so prevalent it's like breathing air. I enjoyed how quickly the first few chapters moved, and getting a full scope of the main character's back story and family history already. I'm very intrigued to keep following her journey and exploring the world more.
