The magic system of this world seems really interesting, and I'm always a fan of a fantastical horror concept. For me, though, the prose felt blunt, and the dialogue made me think that this is going to be more YA than horror. I don't think the story will be for me, but I really like what she's done as far as blending historical fiction and fantastic elements to make a new alternative world.
