"The Scarlet Alchemist" by Kylie Lee Baker is one of those unique novels that is imaginative and original! As a reader, I get bored reading books that basically have the same plot, but with different characters and settings. The main character, Zilan, is a strong biracial female that has no qualms of standing up to others that are higher in the social echelon of society. She is looking forward to completing her exams, which will allow her to move and begin her life as an elite alchemist. Even though the "Sneak Peek" was graphic at times, it sets the tone for a good YA read. Looking forward to seeing how this unique novel unfolds!
