This feels like I'm sitting before a talented storyteller--the setting and characters have popped to life and hooked me in immediately. I love how Zilan holds her ground and refuses to give in. I enjoy her fierce love of family and was enamored when she was reading a book while waiting for customers in the shop. I'm excited to venture into this alternate historical world.
