My first impression of The Scarlet Alchemist is that the cover is very dramatic and eye-catching. I have admittedly seen quite a few books the past couple of years about alchemists. I really don't read much fantasy but this looks like it would be a good read for someone who enjoys dark, dramatic fantasy stories.
