This sounds so good, a story with political and royal mysteries and intrigue. I love that it's fantasy but that it's inspired by 18th-century China. Zilan feels like a smart and cool MG character, she knows what she wants and goes for it, she has attitude. And the magic system is very interesting has complexity.
