I was drawn in by the start of this book! Alchemy is a really interesting magic system and we see already that Zilan's magic makes her pay a price, depending on what she does. I can't wait to see more about alchemy as the book goes on. I think the idea of resurrection through alchemy is super interesting. Zilan is a really cool character and I can't wait to see what she does when she gets involved with the royal family trying to take her imperial exams.
