Good premise and I like what story is about but do not feel attached to it. It has good bones/threads - Chinese vs western alchemy, biracial aspect, necromancy, mystery of her father disappearance and more.
I liked that we got to see main character snap back because the little bit of privilege she was able to get by knowing alchemy.
