Objectively, this was enjoyable, but it also felt very generic to me. Formulaic. A woman who's completely unqualified to be a nanny ends up moving to a different country to watch her boss's young daughter full-time. Plus, the initial reason her boss decided she would be a good fit was ridiculous. He saw her playing with a child one time and decided she would be great. And, how did Emily not see anything suspicious from the very first second? Nothing was normal about this entire situation. That being said, I do think the general tense atmosphere was well done. But the characters were fairly dull (Emily was SO boring) and there was a lot of page time dedicated to scenes that didn't really add anything to the book (at least in my opinion). This is the type of book that you might buy at the airport just for something to read, but it's not one that leaves a lasting impression.
