Emily is an aspiring actress who works temp jobs to help her get by, but that is not working out well for her. Scott offers her a job on his island as a nanny and housekeeper. Emily spends the summer getting to know Scott's family (Nina and Aurelia) and helping out where she can. There is a lot that Nina is keeping from her and Emily starts trying to figure out why.
I felt a little conflicted when reading this book. The beginning and the premise of the book interested me, but when reading it what I expected wasn't what happened. The relationships that formed in this book were interesting to start and I liked the mystery in the relationship between the husband and wife. At one point, I was unsure if there would be a magical/supernatural element to this book which added to my conflicted feelings. In the end, I saw one of the reveals coming and overall I felt underwhelmed with the conclusion to the story.
