I really was intrigued about characters and the story and wanted to keep reading! I loved that the story was told from Emily's point of view and then Scott's and his wife Nina's, as they differed greatly as to how interactions unfolded and putting the pieces of the separate stories, motives, and experiences together helped to create a nearly complete view of events. The setting of the French estate paradise was not only described beautifully (sounds like a lovely place to visit!!), it also imparted a sense of something mysterious, perhaps sinister, and other worldly. Their past histories also came into play as they related to each other in this remote French paradise and it was interesting to see what the characters would do and where the story would go! The eventual ending, however, seemed to be a bit of a let down and unfinished. Had hoped for a bit more.
