I saw this book EVERYWHERE at the start of the summer/how much they were loving it and knew that I had to have it. Straightaway from the start you get the feel as though something is off with the story. While the story hooks you straight away it does suffer a bit due to two factors:
1. the plot seems pretty predictable from the start. As I mentioned, once you get the feel that things are off a bit you can see the red flags from a mile away. While this is perfectly find for some, when it comes to thrillers I don't want to see the plot twists coming from a mile away.
2. The ending felt open-ended and didn't really feel like an ending? It left me with more questions than answers - similar to the ending of A Simple Favor (book ending, not movie).
Once you get a good feel for what's wrong, you're on a mad dash for the finish like and hooked simply to see if things play out the exact same way you can predict.
