Emily’s life is falling apart. She has lost her job, will be losing her apartment and she isn’t talking to her parents. She has hit rock bottom. But then her employer offers her a life line in the form of a new job. Emily will be living in a gorgeous mansion in France where she will be assisting Nina, Scott’s wife with housekeeping and child minding. It’s sounds too good to be true.

The story unfolds through the perspective of Emily, Nina, and Scott. I liked how each character had a say in shaping the narrative. The story has a way of lulling you into thinking nothing’s wrong with the odd arrangement that Emily finds herself in and then slowly the author starts to unravel the perfect facade.

Really enjoyed the book. Great character development with ripped from the headlines situation. This book would generate good book club discussions.
