The Safe Place by Anna Downes is a story about a woman named Emily who is struggling to find her way in life...she’s the coworker who is always late every morning, the one who just can’t catch a break. Emily has had a rough life in general and as she worked towards her life goal of becoming an actress, she runs into obstacles along her way.
After losing her job, Emily is stuck on what to do. Eviction notices are piling, cabinets are bare. Things get even worse once her acting agent ends up firing her too. She finds herself stuck in a rot and lost on what to do.
Out of no where, the CEO of her previous job, Scott Denny offers Emily a job that will solve all her problems and she just can’t pass it up.
Unfortunately, Emily is in for a crazy surprise.
It might look and feel like paradise, but something isn’t right.......Emily can feel in it her spine........
I literally had no idea where this book was heading until the plot twist, and after that twist, I was shook...
I engulfed every page of this book. Each chapter left me needing to know more. I loved switching back and forth between Scott’s and Emily’s sides of the story. It helped me understand the whole story a lot more. I would of loved to have heard from Nina as well but regardless, this book is full of suspense, emotion and thrill! I love it and totally recommend! ☺️
