I'd heard a lot of hype about this book, and it sounded like something I'd enjoy. However, I just found it to be "okay" overall, with a lot of predictability. I wasn't a fan of the writing style, in general.
I didn't think there was much development with Emily's character. I expected a bit more, based on my experience with this genre.
The ending ... just didn't cut it for me. I had hoped for more twists and turns, as well as suspense, but the book just deliver on either for me.
The setting was enjoyable. What's not to like about being paid to be in paradise (especially when I read this during the pandemic lockdown).
