Scott is either a psychopath or having a psychotic break...or both? He seems to be publicly successful but privately tortured. There are elements of gamesmanship in the early chapters, indicating that he may be setting Emily up for something sinister in the guise of answered prayers. Unsettling and intriguing, I'm interested to see where the story goes.
