From the first few chapters, we meet both Emily and Scott. Emily continually falls down on her luck, and her family is convinced this time is no different. Scott has a sadistic urge inside him, but we don’t know if it’s just a stress relief. Both characters seem broken, and I’m curious how their stories intertwine.
