I am very intrigued by this story after reading the excerpt. At first I felt bad for Emily as she seems to be having a hard time in life and trying to pursue her goal of being an actress but only then to discover how selfish she really is when she talks to her mother. Scott, the powerful banker we are led to believe is just trying to run his company but we learn he has a woman calling him who is not his wife, he requested Emily be fired, and he likes to harm himself in different ways as well as having “rages.” Yes, after these first few pages I’m very intrigued about how this story comes together.
