Emily is a temp in the company owned by Scott. Emily is an aspiring actress, though she's not that great. She can't seem to remember her lines, and appears very flustered - not just during auditions, but in her life as a whole. She just can't seem to get it together.

Scott, on the other hand, seems to have always had it together. He's a planner and a plotter, knowing every step he'll take for the next five years or so.

There's great tension building in this book from the very first. The reader knows that something is going to happen; the foreshadowing is there and it builds and builds. What exactly is Emily going to do to put herself in yet an even more precarious position? What secrets lurk in Scott's life?

The author does an outstanding job keeping the tension building and ensuring the reader wants to turn that next page.
