This book was a slow burn buildup to atheism main events to the story, it has a lot of character building especially with the Sitwell character, The book is a reminder about how treated the “help” ion those days and were so to profit from the hard work of others who they believe are lower than them
Unfortunately these types of crimes are just limited to the past they still go on today.
The story also shows how the children of the time we’re willing to do important tasks to try and shape a better future,
The book is sort of sad in some ways on how Miss Minnie could have been so cheated in many ways her job, her position and most importantly her sauce.
I do believe that the characters of color really care for each other in this town trying to help each other even if they don’t particularly like each other. This is shown in the train scene.
Overall I enjoyed the book a great read for persons who want to learn about a bleak tone in our hisy
