All this comes together and changes the lives of many individuals who are discovering what is truth and untruth. They are Miss Mamie who actually assisted in the creation of the sauce, Miss Jennie who viewed August as honest and is caught up in his revenge acts, and three orphans who were taken under the wing of August only to view him differently as they are send back to the neighborhood. The book looks at greed, stereotypes, and who people are. Good look at social classes.
