I chose to read the first look because I am interested in historical fiction. The story of the Barclays sounds intriguing because they act as if they still have money and want to keep up appearances but they are not as well off anymore. They are from a group who believed they were doing the African Americans a favor by hiring them as their servants. I don’t have much knowledge about advertising during this time period so it should be an informative read.
