When she was young, her father gave her a red address book in which she has kept the names of the people she has loved throughout the years, in many different countries, and in many different walks of life. Doris turns the pages of her red book as she describes the experiences that shaped her life.
I thought that the premise for this book was really interesting, and the writing style is very descriptive and immersive. It's a lovely and sweet book, but seems very sad, as well. It gives a very interesting view on World War II and the time periods surrounding it, and it a very interesting story!
