The Red Address Book reminded me a lot of A Man Called Ove. I fell in love with Doris and her stories and I wept for her when she is suddenly taken from her home to go work as a maid. The book kept me wanting more and it also made me dread getting to the end. I loved the different settings of the book and how it alternated between the past and present day. Doris' relationships with her home care workers allowed me to connect to my own grandmother and those that cared for her in her later years. Some just saw her as a paycheck and others took the time to care and get to know her. I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future and I am excited to see where her career takes her.
