Historical (romance) fans- this is your book! I loved how the author used Doris address book to tell the story of her life, and the people involved in her life during WWII. It was a brilliant way to write the storyline. It makes me wonder what all stories of my grandmother's I missed out on, being that I have her address book as well. The story of her and Allan pulls at your heartstrings also! I felt so terrible for her, and the life she lived. She really lived a tumultuous life, and carried a lot of guilt even though it was was necessarily her fault, or guilt to carry. I really enjoyed how the author brought the book ending together and finished with an epilogue of Doris and Allan, instead of leaving it to your own imagination to try and figure out what could have happened or why things had happened/turned out the way they had. I would for sure read more books by this author and look forward to her writing more similar to this story line.
