Try as I might, all these months later, I still can’t recapture the desire to continue reading this book. I slowly, eventually, painstakingly got to her discussing her abusive indentured slavery & just can’t go back. With her fucked up childhood being told between her lonely old age moments, it’s too disheartening to continue. Since I’m already depressed and on meds, I’m tapping out for my mental health.

But I don't think it's really down to just my mental state. It's slow & boring & sad.

I don’t understand the love and enjoyment others find in this and can only gird my loins as I post a rare one star review for The Red Address Book.

Now, Bookish First, just let me post my review in peace and go.
