Even from the small sampling of this book I had, it is clear it is going to be a great read. The main character, Doris is an older woman, reduced by time and circumstances to a quiet, and limited life. And while the author uses simple and somewhat sparse language this simplicity and sparseness create a character that like the vastness of the night sky, is deep and rich in its emptiness and space. It is clear already that the book, like Doris's life, while possibly quiet and simple, will also be a rich and textured journey.
