That was sad and lonely. And then got messed up when Doris starts writing out her memories about her father and her...indentured servitude. The preview did make me want to read more and find out how she ended up where she is now given where she came from.
Not something I would've really investigated on my own, but the preview has definitely piqued my interest. I don't plan on buying it if I don't win it, but I'll borrow from the library when/if I can.
