There's something achingly poignant about Doris. She's alone in the world with only carers stopping by weekly to ensure her apartment is tidied up and that she's eating and still alive. She has a great niece somewhere in the world, Jenny, to whom she'll leave all her worldly goods when she's gone. But she has a story to tell, a great life encapsulated inside this red address book, and it's an entire lifetime worth of story. I'm obviously already riveted, and would love the opportunity to finish this story.
