The Rancher’s Baby is my first story by this author and it was sweet.
Selene and Knox are best friends since college and even while they don’t talk about it, there is something more for Selene, but never she says anything, afraid to lose Knox and his friendship.
Selena and Knox have build their lives but after their marriages failed (both for different reasons) life makes them face together what they didn’t know about their feelings for each other back in collage. They have been in contact for all this time but after tragedy hits Knox he keeps to himself and when, Selena’s ex “dies”, they reconnect.
Selena comes from a controlling family so when she sees freedom she takes the first opportunity not caring about the consequences, marrying his best friend, Will, and maybe breaking her other’s friend heart -Knox.
Knox had everything, a great job, money and a beautiful family until tragedy made him lose what he loved the most, followed by the breakdown of his marriage. He is afraid to continue his life afraid to lose it again, so when he and Selena confess their feeling both of them agree that nothing can be serious.
When true feelings start to grow up, Selena surprises Knox with a news that can destroy what they have so far.
We get to know all the story behind their lives, what made them to go after the paths that separated them and their confessions about their feelings and their choices or marriages.
I loved the message I got from the story, to forgive and be strong enough to recognize that in a relationship both can be wrong
