There's a good mystery going on at the beginning of the book...why are so many women, pregnant or with babies, at Will's funeral? And why do they all hold the same letter? Right off I wanted to read more because of the mystery.
I thought the male was more fleshed out than the female, and what I want to see is stronger females. He is a millionaire who owns a ranch and a chain of grocery stores. She inherited her money from her grandfather only by getting married. So the man owns stores and a ranch, the woman had to depend on men for her money. Ugh. We are told she has a career, but not what it is, as if it isn't as important as his ranch and grocery stores.
I thought the trend in romances was to have stronger women. She seems pretty weak so far. Of course, the sample is only three pages long. So there is hope.
