The prologue hooked me. That section was fantastic. The characters and the build up were so worth it. The world building was amazing, I loved every bit of it. I could totally see how the rest of the story was going to proceed from that moment. However, I got a bit lost in the next two chapters. I was unsure who the narrator was, I couldn’t make up my mind if it was the son or the princess or even a third character we hadn’t really been properly introduced to yet. That was cleared up by the end of the selection we were given but at first it was confusing and kept taking me out of the story. I am looking forward to see what happens next with these characters and the world Melissa has created.
