This book was one of the hardest books to get back at BookCon in 2019, and I was incredibly thrilled to receive an ARC of it.

I haven't been a huge fan of Melissa De La Cruz's books, mainly her historical fiction books featuring Hamilton knock-offs, which are not historically accurate. The description of this book seemed intriguing and the perfect opportunity to write the best enemies-to-lovers plot. However, the enemies-to-lovers plot was one of the most disappointing I've seen.

My most favorite book with an enemies-to-lovers plot was Serpent & Dove, which perfected enemies-to-lovers and it showed me how amazing this book trope can be if it's written to perfection.

The plot of this book lacked because it was trying to focus too much on the romance and didn't feel the need to work on the plot as much.

This book disappointed me to no end.
