I am a huge fan of witty banter, mages, magical guilds, and exciting missions for assassins and this book had it all! Shadow was exactly the type of female main character that I love to read about! She’s stubborn, feisty and intelligent. Everything I love to be and would envision for myself if I was a fictional character. I really enjoyed the romance that was building throughout this book, and am dying for the sequel already! If you are fans of the Wild Magic series by Tamora Pierce or Terry Brooks then this is definitely a book you should read! You’re bound for an adventure and it’s not a boring one at all. I will definitely reread this book in years to come, and that always marks a great book in my opinion.
