The Queen's Assassin is a compelling story filled with mystery. Nothing was ever what it seemed and the relationship between Shadow and Cal was everything. The dual POVS really added to the story giving us a chance to see into both if the main character's heads. It does play up the angst at times. However I am really excited to see what the next book brings.
If you like antagonistic beginnings turned to romance then you will love the characters relationship. I personally cannot stand love at first glance couples so this was wonderful as the relationship was built up to a romance. The magic system was really cool, but I did want to see a lot more of it. I hope that's featured in the next book.
