Ages 14 & up, I am in my mid-twenties and have been reading Melissa de la Cruz since Blood Bloods series was first published. I fell in love again with the Witches of East end, as well as when I found out she actually wrote Descendants (I did not know it was based on books -- go Disney!). Melissa did NOT disappoint with this books and I cannot wait till it is published so I can add it to my collection.
Melissa has me at assassins, unbreakable vows and magic -- some of the best elements of a fantasy book. The writing does a wonderful balance of plot details, background characters and knowledge, romantic aspects, and twists and turns to keep the reader on their toes. This a wonderful start to a new series that will keep readers begging for more. Good job Melissa!
