The concept of this book is interesting, but a lot of it feels artificial. There are too many events in the first three chapters, and they don't flow well together at all. There's just too much stuff going on. The writing style could have been more effective too. The author "tells" a lot instead of "showing," and it's honestly a little irritating. The main character is irritating too because she's a super special snowflake. Come on, Shadow for a character name? Really?
