I love the cover of this one. Though I thought before reading the excerpt that it was chocolate pouring into the cup... not sure what I think about it being weird-colored blood. The way it drips through the words is very nice.
I'm not completely hooked by the excerpt. The italics bit is overly long and the whole thing is a bit dry and keeps the reader at arms length.
I'm intrigued by the politcal intrigue and the synopsis though.
