I highly enjoyed reading this slightly dark, magical, romantic fairytale of Leelo and Jaren. The dark magical building of the Wandering Forest, the lake and Leelo's family were very intriguing to me. Leelo's character had a lot to figure out about what she had always been told about her life vs what she was finding out for herself at such a young age. Leelo's relationship with her brother and the fact of him not having magical skills made my heart hurt for her. This book had me going through the entire list of emotions through out - from sad to hopeful, angry (ahem Sage) to happy, and everything in between. The cover art is just breathtaking as well, I kept that image of Leelo in my mind as I was reading the story. I highly recommend this wonderful, thought provoking slightly spooky fairytale read.
This was the first book by Mara Rutherford I have read but it certainly wont be the last....
