"Outsider are always given a choice: the Forest or the lake. Either way they're never heard from again." Endla is a island with a blood thirsty forest surrounded by the poisonous Lake Luma. The people of Endla think both the lake and the forest protect them and keep them safe from outsiders. The story follows Leelo who is from Endla and Jaren who is an outsider who miraculously made it to Endla alive and unnoticed except by Leelo. The presence of Jaren makes Leelo question things she has always been told. The cover is beautiful. I love the map that is on the inside and how the pictures around it all relate to the story. This was a very well written book that was easy to read and easy to understand and made me be able to picture the forest and lake and the surrounding villages. I loved this book and would read it again as well as recommend it to others.
