I thought that the concept of this book was really cool. I loved how there was an entire island isolated by a wandering forest and a poisonous lake. The reason as to why the lake was poisonous was a bit disappointing to me. I expected a much bigger and more magical reason for it. I loved the characters and thought that they were interesting. The romance in this was okay. It took me a bit to really believe they were a good match for each other. She just seemed a bit to childish and young for him even though they are supposed to be about the same as each other. I really loved how the story ended. I thought that it was a great way to wrap things up and it was a nice happy ending. The story did move a bit too slowly for me, which was a problem since the book wasn't even 400 pages. I just wish that there was a bit more action in the book because there were times where I was a bit bored.
