I enjoyed reading The Poision Season. It's a great story about young adults finding thier place in the world and standing for what they believe in vs. what they are told they should be and do. I enjoyed reading about the relationships between Leelo & Sage's family's and about the other families on the island. The love story between Leelo and Jaren is sweet and doesn't get to graphic for a young adult book.
As the story unfolds you get more background into the relationship between Leelo & Sage's mother and you learn more about how lies can poision relationships and a community as a whole. I'm glad that in the end the people on the island were free to make thier own choices about what was true and what were lies fed by fear.
I feel the book ended in a rush after building the story for such a long time, but I am hopeful that it means there will be a sequel coming! I want to know what happens with all my favorite people now!
