I'm a huge fan of The Grace Year so when I saw this one compared to it, I knew I had to read it. Young adult books are always an enjoyable and quick read for me and this one was no different. I
The Poison Season is a good fit for readers who enjoy young adult fantasy stories with a focus on discovery, magical elements, and the development of unexpected relationships. I do think that the plot was kind of predictable at times and I was able to easily guess what was about to happen. I did enjoy the writing style very much and the characters. The two main characters are from very different backgrounds and it was interesting to see their differing viewpoints. This book definitely gives off cottagecore and cozy fairy tale vibes. The plot doesn't have a lot of depth, but I think the characters and the atmosphere make up for it so it's still a really good read.
