So I really enjoy this authors writing style. It is flowery and flowey without being annoying. While it reads as YA, it doesn’t feel like it is targeting young ya and reads so easily.
Right off the bat with this book, I struggled. I hate the main characters name. She is such a good character but her name is stupid and I couldn’t get over it.
Other than the stupid names, I felt like this book was such a masterful blending of fantasy and romance, dark and light, plot and distraction. The challenges that the main character faces are so well written that I was on the edge of my seat, reading words faster than my brain could comprehend. The struggles she faces with potentially losing her brother, but also having she world flipped by the streamer washing up on the beach was so well crafted and kept me wanting more.
