What I appreciated from this book was the ease of reading it. There was just the right amount of detail/description while also propelling the plot. I like this author's writing style, after a few dnf books I've read due to slow pacing or overly descriptive which was a relief to avoid in this excerpt. I like the nature focus within the story and the importance whether it by the island setting, the Wandering Forest, and various wildlife. I am very curious how this story will continue and the role of the poisoned lake, and will definitely be getting the book!
