Reading through this First Look, I can't help but feel apprehensive that the writing style and plot is a bit dated. Teenage girl lives in a restrictive fantasy world that it looks like she will be freed from with the help of a mysterious brooding boy. It worked in 2013, but surely we should have broken away from this trend in 2022?
