First and foremost, the cover is an excellent draw in! It has similar styles to other YA books, but is still different. It's very pretty, not too showy, just enough of an attention grabber.
The book itself starts out great! We have this mysterious wolf hunting prey, there is this large air of mystery, and you are drawn in by the imagery of the woods surrounding the wolf.
However, after that, I just couldn't seem to get drawn in anymore. It is definitely an intriguing storyline, something I haven't seen before, but it just seemed to drag. The writing was OK, but just seemed to jump straight into the action with very little detail. I would've liked to see more forest/lake building before we jumped right into rituals and such.
All in all, I think this is a fairly well written book, with a decent plot line, it just seems to try to grab you straight in from the beginning while missing a few story building details.
